UTAU Voicebank Basics for Beginners

Otoing

The base setting mentioned is for a CV Library, bare in mind there are small differences between Consonants (soft, hard, nasal, fricative etc.), the basics are the same. For other Libraries these settings varies.

For editing the Parameters use either the UTAU build-in editor, SetParam or Vlabeler.

Overseeing of the Parameters

  • Alias = Sample Naming / Alias Naming of the Sample
  • Offset = Everything before this is muted
  • Overlap = The place where the file will overlap with the previous Sample
  • Preutterance = Separates the Consonant and Vowel
  • Consonant = Non-stretching/non-looping stable part
  • Stretch/loop = The stable vowel part after the consonant that can be stretched or looped, it doesn't have a value, depends on the sample's length and cleanliness.
  • Cutoff = Ending of the Sample
  • Note: The Stretch/loop part will eather Stretch or Loop depending on the used Resampler.
